I have a confession to make to those of you who understand and after this I hope to get my s*&t together and get back on track. I was gone on vacation for 10 days and even though I have always lost weight in the past on vacation, this time I gained 5!!!! pounds. I was devastated. I did lots of walking but I also did lots of things I don't normally do when at home. For example, eating too quickly, taking sips of water with meals, snacking and grazing in the car on pretzels and other junk, and indulging in too many spoonfuls of ice cream. I also must confess for the last several days since coming home I have fallen back into that old mindset of previous diets that fail (my failure), and tell myself that I should just screw it all and eat what I want to, if I am gonna gain weight anyway. The mind games I play, ugh. I fall into this pattern of self-sabotage. I fear I will gain all my weight back and then don't do anything about it. I refuse to let all this hard work derail. I am 11 months post-op and this is the first gain I have had, I don't want to go back to where I was. OK, so this was my tearful confession any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
Thanks, Kim

Hang in there. I'm 6 months out and totally feel your pain. Head games are the worst! I find I'm struggling everyday these days...trying not to fall into those old habits. Hugs and good luck

Honey, carb will bite you in the butt every time! Just bite the bullet and get back with the program. :)

Everyone slips up occasionally. Learning from our mistakes is what makes us grow and be better at this. Forgive yourself and get back on track. No more beating yourself up, ok??

Don't beat yourself up would be my only advice. We all have a slip up now and again. Just forgive yourself, and keep moving forward.

Exactly what everyone else is saying... You did it and you will probably do it again at some point. We all do. Now, back to your program and move forward. Those 5lbs will come off quickly. The difference between now and the other diet failures is that we have a very powerful tool to help us get back on track. You can do it!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
