Its been a rough road since my surgery on 9/22. I ended back in the hospital on 10/6 for 5 days with pericarditis ( inflammation of the heart pericardium). Then I returned to the hospital on 10/28 with pleural effusion (fluid on lung), had it drained and released 10/29 and then back again on 10/31 and hospitalized for 4 days with reaccumulation of fluid. The doctors still don't know if this was all related to the VSG I had or not. Hospitals are not really set up to feed WLS patients, you don't get your vitamins or enough protein and I definitely didn't get to exercise.

Despite all of those obstacles, I still managed to lose 10% of my weight since surgery and the cardiologist told me yesterday that my heart is completely back to normal and that it is very strong. I follow up with the pulmonary specialist Monday but expect that report to be just as good.
