It really will all come around.
You are loaded up with fluids from the hospital and your body is hanging on to everything you give it...which isn't much!
At least you aren't complaining about the gas!!! :-) Just trying to lighter your burden.
It will all come off and your pain will diminish. Just remember that you had major abdominal surgery. Take it easy

I did the same thing! Don't worry! They pump you up with 10 bags of IV and slap you on the a$$ and send you on your way. My fingers looked like sausages they were so swollen. Get up and move around as much as possible. This will release the gas pain you are feeling (if that's what is causing you pain) and get the fluids going in the right direction...OUT!! Sip, sip, sip your fluids and that will also help you flush your system out. It does get better than this, I promise!! You are now officially a "LOSER"!!! Congrats and chin up!!

I too had a 6 or 8 lb weight gain immediately post-op but that dropped away quickly and then I headed down, down, down (slowly). I don't know if it's my insulin resistance or some other endocrine issue but my weight loss seems very slow compared to other people's. Figuring out what is going to work for you is the trick in all this I think. For me: fluids, protein, protein, protein and mixing up the exercise. Hang in there -- it really does get better and you will begin to see, and more importantly, feel the weight loss.

glad your back hun,i'm 5 days out and still in pain,so i wouldn't worry too much.haven't weighed myself yet so don't know if i have lost or not.you will be fine,we have had big surgery so we need to take it slow.good luck.Andrea xxx

I had my surgery in India, so when I was released from the hospital, I was recuping in a B &B. I know I was heavier even if I didn't have a scale, because I kept swelling up fromt eh waist down and had to wear those damn compression stockings. Heavens that was the most miserable part of the whole operation. I didn't get to weigh for about 18 days after the op and I was down 18 lbs. Glad I didn't get to weigh until then!
