Ok, had my pre op physical, and I lost 14 pounds on the partial liquid diet.
My Nurse Practioner, was very ahppy with me! Vitals were good. I'm on oxygen at night when I sleep, so I am hoping losing the weight, and stopping smoking, will jump start my healthy way of living.
Total pre op weight loss is 35 pounds ! !! I can live with that!
Got laundry done, groceries are purchased, room is clean, and I got a recliner for a cheap price to sit in, because I did not have one in the house. So, in case I can't get comfy in bed, the recliner is my bed backup!
I don't have to puree food at all. I go from 6 days of all liquids, and then on the 7th day, I go to Stage 2, focusing on the soft foods like cottage cheese and sf pudding and yogurt to start..then if that sits ok, I can move to canned chicken etc..
I'm in such a great mood, I've been waiting for this, & am hoping this weight loss will alleviate my severe, chronic pain, I've been battling for ....5 years now! I haven't been ablet o walk, or stand more than 10 minutes, so this has got to at least alleviate SOME PAIN, by losing weight!
So, I wish everyone that is pre-op, a safe and healthy surgery, and Loser's Bench?? MAKE ROOM FOR BOO!!!!!

You are lucky that you can move on to soft foods right away.
After my surgery I get to finish the week with clear liquids then go to full liquids then pureed then soft foods. Unless of course I do really well and the Doc progresses me faster lol!
Good luck to you! And on that looser Bench there better be 3 spots ready for Phoenix, Boo and myself! So excited for all of us!

I slept in my recliner for several weeks post op! That is not the case for everyone, but I was oh so thankful for mine!!
