40lbs in 4 weeks

Everyting has been going great! I have lost 40lbs in 4 weeks and the day after my check in with my surgeon I am put into the hospital! I started having bad dizzy spells and nearly passed out 3 times. Come to find out my heart had went into A-Fib and my heart was beating 175 beats per minute. That kept me in the hospital for 4 days. Long story short I am on some new meds but the doctor told me that I was headed in the right direction with weight loss and my lifestyle change and that I should not be on the medicines forever. I hope everyone else is doing great and look forward to reading more about your journeys.

Wow! You are doing great with the weight loss! Sorry to hear about the heart issues. From what you've said it shouldn't be a permanent thing.

Went through A-Fib myself, before I got super heavy, once at my highest weight and another time after my 125 lbs. loss. Each time coincided with severe stress in my life, but I'm now on meds to keep me in a normal rhythm and a lower stroke risk. Hope they get you managed.

GREAT JOB!!!! you are doing AWESOME. Sorry to hear about the A-Fib but glad your getting that under control. I am 3 weeks post op and am down 19 lbs. I am having some dizziness but told it is normal for now. I'm still struggling getting my protein in but taking it day by day

Congrats on shedding the excess weight! You are rocking' this thing! My husband (who wasn't overweight) had an a-fib attack in his mid-30s... it was a very scary experience. We never found out the cause and it hasn't happened since. I'm glad you are on the mend!

I think it is great that you were able to loose 40 lbs in 4 weeks. I am looking into getting the gastric bypass myself. Just curious how much I will be able to eat til I get full once I get the surgery? Would I get full off of a yogurt cup?

Bonnie...you get full pretty fast. You might be able to eat about 1/2 cup of yogurt in the months following surgery. It's best to follow your doctor's recommendation. Dont' worry...you won't feel hungry. A small amount of food will fill you up. Eating too much will make you sicker than a dog!

Hi there! I had my gastric bypass on May 1st and lost 37 lbs my first month. Since then I've hit a plateau and lost mabye 5 lbs. Did you notice a drastic slow down as well? it's really weighing on my motivation at this time.
