Are you using a website like myfitnesspal to record your food? I find that really helpful. Sometimes, especially in the first few months, I would put a food in that I wanted to eat just to see if it was worth it in terms of calories and carbs.

At least that way you know exactly where you are every day.

I'm sorry your visit went badly, it's awful that your doctor wasn't very supportive. I lost a quick 30 after surgery, then nothing. A lb here and there. I go to the gym and have a personal trainer, plus I walk and still I'm struggling to drop lbs!!! Stay strong and know you are not alone!

I don't want to say this and I'm not expert but I hope you don't listen to all your des negativity. Everyone body is different so whose to say that you didn't lose enough weight? She's saying you should've atleast lost 75lb in 3months?? I'm sure some people have but Im 3mknths out and is down 57lbs so am I cheating also?? Keep doing what your doing and once your not happy with what your losing then you take it from there. Congrats on your 42lbs and I wish you the best of luck. But PLEASE don't let them dog you out the way they did

I just pasted my 3 months....I did find out about month 2 that I wasn't losing weight either. I bumped up the amount of meals I was eating and the weight started coming off quickly. I now eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I went almost a month (month 2) without a single pound lost. At 3 months I was down 60 lbs! Maybe you are like me and not getting enough in and your body is holding on to what you have.

Thanks everyone, I don't use my fitness but I keep track of everything I eat and drink. Every appointment I've been to has been like this, I think the dr. Has no bedside manners. I also think I might not be eating enough its really hard to eat more. Im getting in all my protein but very low calorie intake.. thank you all for the support it helps!!!

please keep your head up. All of our bodies are diffrent. Just remember you are doing all you can do. We are here for you.

Keep the faith and don't let your dr. ignorant behave or comments discourage you or get you down. Like Skinnyintime said maybe you are not getting enough proteins in. I wasn't because it is very hard for me to eat and get everything in, therefore I am not losing any weight either. Make sure that you are getting all of your proteins in or your body is going to hold on to what you are consuming. I am only 23 days out and I am unable to consume all of my proteins or water. Wow, I don't know what to say about your dr. Talk about rude! My bariatric program never tells me how much I should be loosing or my goal weight. They are very supportive. They don't even get into the weight numbers. I am so sorry you had to go through that. I don't think it is realistic for your dr to say you should have lost 75 pounds in 3 months. That is just not healthy. I'm 6 months out from sleeve surgery and have lost 69 since surgery and lost 47 pre op. You might want to up your calories and protein levels for the day if you are exercising 2 hours a day. You might be burning off more than what you are consuming and that can cause stalls or your body going into starvation mode.

Was your appointment with your surgeon? My surgeon is a total jerk. Brilliant surgeon - I had no problems - but zero empathy.

I've seen him exactly twice. Once at the initial consultation for five minutes so that he could confirm I was elegeable for surgery, and once for one minute to buy my pre-surgery shakes (prescription).

He didn't come to reassure me before surgery when I was waiting, he waited until I was unconscious before he came onto the OR, he sent his residents to do all my check-ups when I was in the hospital, and I've never talked to his office again!

Apparently surgeons often lack bedside manners.

wow, that is sad. Were you talking with your Dr. or your dietitian? My dietitian gave me some really made me feel bad when i was there. Only it seemed like she thought I was going too fast because of my bad history and the surgion, he made it sound like I wasn't doing enough to lose, and to exercise like a mad woman. i still had my oxygen on , was in pain. So, I just can say, congratulations on your weight loss. BE happy you are going in the right direction! as long as you are going down, if its a little slow for their liking oh, well. Just keep up the good work.

Slow and steady wins the race...although we are not in a race. My docs office made sure first and foremost, that I am eating the right things. Not how much weight was coming off. Wanted me to be healthy FIRST...... and we are all different...DUHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!

My appointment was with the dr. Who works for the surgeon. I've only seen my surgeon once right before surgery. He was great, but his staff isn't. I'm gonna up my protein and liquid and hopefully it'll help.
