Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Ready for it? Measure yourself, take pictures and think of the weight loss as a byproduct for what you had the surgery for: good health.
Remember: this is a marathon, not a sprint and it sounds completely normal to me.
All you can do is remember it took you a long time to put the weight on. You will continue to lose, but your body has to catch up with the loss as you go through them.
Then you gain muscle as you work out and the scale will not more. Make sure to measure yourself because the one thing you will notice during these times, is your body is getting smaller.
The inches going down will keep you going through those periods when the weight does not seem to be moving. I had to learn how not to get frustrated with myself or the universe :)
Most days, I'm doing 2 protein shakes a day and 3 small "meals", and I eat about 1/4 - 1/2 cup per meal depending on what it is. Sometimes it takes me 30 minutes to eat, but sometimes it takes me an hour. Today (so far) I have had 1 scrambled egg and about 2.5 oz of plain chicken salad. I'm going to try and get my 60g of protein without a shake...but we'll see. I'm getting kind of tired of them.
