I am 3 days post op and home now. The first 36 hours were really rough as I was so nauseated I couldn't even hold my head up. We finally determined that it was the morphine I was on. Once the morphine drip was removed and the nausea subsied, I was as good as new. I got to come home last night and am actually doing quite well. I've already been able to discontiue my fast acting insulin and have reduced the long acting to 10 units in the morning and evening. I'm no longer taking blood pressure pills either. I am being very careful with how much I drink as I've found I am unable to tell if I am hungry or full. Just sipping, walking and resting as everyone says.
