Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Stay hydrated. 1-2 ounce cups at a time, sipped.
Do what you can and work at protein.
Farmgirl had a timer and she set it (every 15 minutes) so she would sip all day while awake.
I set a timer for my medications and now I do it by heart.
It's a steep learning curve, but you can do it. It will normalize and become habit if you do it right now.
Start with hydration. Take the pills. Work at protein. Build to exercise. That's my advice for the first three weeks. :)
Email me if you need to vent, chat or ask ANYTHING.

I had to break up my protein shakes into about 1/2 servings at a time and have them more often. I would have been so nauseated to try to drink them all at one sitting. It was not what they told me to do but I had to do it that way and since then I have read that others do this too and some hospitals recommend it.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words. What a difference a couple of days make! I don't feel so overwhelmed by it all now and have got in to a routine and my body is healing nicely so the soreness and pain have just turned into discomfort now.
This site is invaluable and even though I am more a reader than a poster I come here each day to read advice and journeys and it is SO nice to listen to people who have experienced what you yourself has.
Thanks guys.
