White rice contains no nutritional stuff for our body, however a 1/5 cup of Brown Rice has 5-6g of protein. It also acts as a 'substrate' that is like a 'tool' to help our bodies break down other protein in other things like bean and meat more. So by adding a grain it helps your body get more protein out of other things.
Some people complain of rice problems in the first few months after surgery, however, as a vegetarian, it's important for me to add the grain to get more protein out of beans and tofu. I've been eating brown rice since the beginning of the 5th month. NOTE, however, I use brown rice as a side item and add maybe 2-3 grains of rice per bite of whatever else I'm eating. In other words, I don't use rice for a FILLER anymore, like a big fork/spoon of rice with some vegetables or whatever. So I do eat very little of it. But brown rice is not a bad food for any of us. Some people may have a harder time digesting, but I haven't. Ask your nutritionist about eating brown rice and quinoa. They are both grains that have protein and are important in our nutritional upkeep.
Yes, our new pouches are MAGICAL things. They can make things grow bigger than is naturally possible. If we swallowed a pea sized ball of rice, it would swell up to the size of a basketball.
I wonder if we swallow money if it will expand like that too. FCOL
