Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
However, there are some PB options out there like Better N Peanut Butter. This is NOT the PB2 we often talk about, which I love too, but this is about half way between the two. It is creamy and yummy and I know it has half the calories, but not sure where the fat content is for it.
Good for you tho for getting that protein in!! :)
I wish I had thought or been allowed Peanut butter earlier on after sleeve surgery. I was only getting 200-300 cals in a day and hardly any protein the first month or so and Peanut butter would have helped but I wasn't allowed to consume it till further on post op. I wouldn't worry about the fat but focus on the protein and liquids. How far out are you from WLS?
I do use PB2 in my protein shake every morning too!
You're still early out from surgery. As you begin to be able to tolerate more and more proteins, that peanut butter will likely fade away to an occasional treat.
My program allowed peanut butter, but only twice a week.
At the beginning my program had us using low fat options, but it isn't necessary to "count fat grams." Aim for 70 grams of protein and stay away from carbs. You really only need to worry about fat if it causes digestive problems.
Honestly, the low fat versions of things usually have artificial ingredients and more carbs. "Real" food is healthier.
Just my take. :)

Maybe you could call your nut on the other factors? She may have an easier way for you to balance it all and still get what they want for you.
I'm sure they will have ideas on how to get MORE protein, in ways you can stomach.
