I conquered about half the work I need to do in the front yard. Last night I finished what I started Wednesday. I got all my calladium in the ground last night in the bed up against the house. Got it all mulched too. Now I just need to take out the border and redo the whole thing. That will take a whole day off to do.
I planted toad lillies and green and white hostas under my maple tree and mulched that as well. The border there is in good shape. Then I have another flower bed to do over by the lilac bush near the road. It is also shaded by the maple tree. I need to finish cleaning it out, then I plan to get 3 or 4 hydrangeas and plant there. It already has some stuff growing there. Then it will need mulched. I may amend the soil with some peat moss for the hydrangeas.
So in the coming week I want to work on those borders, then get some hydrangeas in the ground after cleaning out that bed.
That still leaves me 3 flower beds on the sunny side of the house plus tons of other stuff I will talk about later.
One thing at a time! Happy gardening!

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Are those all annuals you are planting?
I got my hydrangeas yesterday, which are perrenial. I also got a mix bag of shade plant seeds. Will be a surprise when they grow up.
Last night I cleaned out that bed and planted the hydrangeas. Idk if they will be pink or blue, I think blue with all the peat moss I put down. Last night I also planted some Iris bulbs to add to the Iris border around my driveway.
