What is your favorite shade annual? Fav shade perennial? Annuals tend to be more colorful, such as impatiens, begonias, and calladium. But perennials come back every year! $savings$ lol
I say hastas for perrenial foilage, calladium for annual. Coleus is usually pretty too.
As far as blooms, I always have impatiens because of their beautiful bright colors and low maintenance. I will plant some in my shade bed under the maple tree and in hanging pots on a shepherds hook next month or so.
Perrenial blooms I have vinca and peonies. Trying to find a new favorite shade perrenial to go in the flower beds I've been working on this week. I hope to have them all planted and mulched by Sunday.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I usually plant annuals around my veggies, The colorful flowers make my veggies happy and they grow faster...:)
I had some of these tall flowers around my veggies last year and I don't remember the name but they came in a box of cherios, I believe, the one with the bee on it and they grew almost as tall as me, by summer's end! It just came to me...they are called Cosmos, and were very colorful and tall and pretty.

My favorite plant to grow to attract bees is African Basil. They like the clover in my yard too, and my crabapple trees.
