It's time to start canning this weekend. Tomato juice, salsa, and pasta sauce. I have to work Saturday so I plan to split the work. Get everything washed and ready Saturday night, do the juicing and prepping. Then Sunday morning I can do the actual hot water bath.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Do you know what slippery sliders are? It's a word for something pickled and I'll tell you if you can't guess it :)
I canned some more yesterday. It's alot of work but very rewarding.
So far I have made:
Salsa
Pasta sauce
Tomato juice
Crushed tomatoes
Yellow tomato preserves
Pesto
Chimchurri
Yellow salsa
Zinfandel jelly
And I have been freezing the jalapenos and green beans. I'm waiting for my elderberries to come on so I can make elderberry jelly, then I will make more zinfandel jelly. I still want to make more pasta sauce too. My cucumbers didn't do well so I won't make pickles unless someone gives me a bunch.
