there was a documentary i watched on youtube, basically compulsive gamblers have different brains, areas light up when we see a near miss. so we are not looking for a win, this is true, one time i took 400 dollars to the casino, first spin i get 350, did i leave? did i say to myself, oh i got what i wanted now i am going home? no. that was not the case, i lost all that money, all of it. i didn't go there to win money, i went there to see a bunch of near misses. really that is the case. yes we go there for the feature too, but the 2 pyramids give a reaction too. so basically we are adding wood to the fire when we do that. it is the composition of our brains, it has been wired to fire up. i can not for the life of me understand why i didn't leave when i had won. why did i come back. i once had a streak where i won 300 over 3 days in a row. i thought i was making my money back. that was not the case, the machines take more than they give. the machines rarely give, and when they give it is only a minor profit, it will never make up for the loss you have already made in gambling. i am pissed off. gambling has really made me see that i don't want to bring children into this world, for fear that they might become addicts.
