You need to ptotect yourself financialy. The problem is your husbands and only he can fix it. You can be supportive, but in the end he is the one who has to want and seek help. As much as you would like to do it for him you can't. You have to take care of yourself, try to live your life and pray he seeks help.

Chs, I am feeling some of you same emotions. Today, I really depressed my DH by talking about our financial situation and Easter Bunny problems. Evey year, I buy a bathing suit and a spring outfit for the kids. I then do a easter egg "clue" hunt with the last egg having a money prize. He still wants to do that but our money is very tight. We got our 401 K money but taxes and penalties "killed" it. We still owe five friends and family money and all DHS 90 day gambling loans are coming due. Dh is talking bankuptcy but I am not willing to go that route yet. I told him we need to continue to pray and put it all in "Gods hands". He will help us through. I know that this financial grief is probably a "trigger" for him. I am trying to keep upbeat for his sake but this is a had weekend for us because my Dad loved Easter and the family gathering.

The only inspiration I have is Jesus Christ and what he did for us. I am also enjoying the beautiful flowers and wonderful spring air. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Happy Easter.

Thanks so much for your responses. I am taking the steps to protect myself financially. One blessing is our fiances aren't together, they never have been. That has been the biggest blessing ever.

I am now realizing that I can't take care of this for my H. He has to do this himself. I pray daily that he does seek help. He speaks on it, so I pray that he does it.

Georgiagam, I am sorry that you are having it rough this holiday. I feel you are like me and want to support your H as much as possible and se him through this illness. I do see that we have to take joy in the little things of life. I see we have to take things one day at a time. And pray at all times.
