I'm still here, I work from home and try to get on the site asap, im in the process of moving or trying, my home has another offer on it, and like i said due to all my gambling, most of the profit will go to pay off the ccards, not much left over for me to get a new home, but doable, so im scared, and im upset that i got myself in this mess, but like one guy said on the call

we have something the others didnt..... another day, and im grateful for that and happy i at least i have an out....but it still sucks

I am on day 19 thanks to this site. Budget is slowly looking better. Because of that my urge to make extra $$ gambling has gone down significantly. I need to always remind myself, even if I win short term, I WILL ALWAYS LOSE LONG TERM, because I am a pathological gambler.

Here, tough week or so... not gambling, just life.

I'm here too. I'm fighting a fight with another addiction (my son's). Thanks to all of you my gambling addiction is at bay for now. I must stay on here though to keep up the fight. Can't let the guard down.

Sill here in PDX. Haven't been posting, but been reading. Been down with an illness the last couple of weeks and still working way too much....but I appreciate the distraction of it all.

Back to day one. Had a talk with my daughter... Its difficult. The hardest part is to start actually think and feel positive about myself. I feel like piece of shit right now.

Day 20, fighting the fight.

Still here Leapyear - 83 days. Would say going strong, but I am having a rough day.....almost gave in and would be so easy to sneak off as I have no one to be accountable to. Hubby is gone for the day. Casino is 5 minutes down the road. Everyone talks about self-exclusion and a fellow GA member told me that the local casino I used to frequent actually will let you "86" yourself. I didn't think NV did this, but she spent 30 minutes telling me about it. The ma and pa casinos will actually do that - I am half tempted to go do this with one of my GA buddies especially for times like this. However, the downside is if you get caught, they can actually arrest you for trespassing. It is a little more stringent the self-exclusion rules. Your papers are filed with the court system (I believe). Major step here, so I really need to think about putting myself in this bind - I have no other reason to go to that joint as we don't eat there and there's no concerts or shows. Thoughts from anyone?

I don't know how things work where you are, but I self excluded on June 9th (all PA casinos and all Caesars properties worldwide) and I love every day of it ! Some will say you can go in and not get caught, but yeah, if i did get caught, I'd be arrested for trespassing. That's enough for me not to go. Honestly, I LOVE it.
Self excluding has taken the battle with my brain completely away. Its just simply not an argument me and me have to have anymore.
If you can, I'd do it !

Naynee, why not do it? If you're done with the gambling, then, you should do it. Make sure to bring someone with you :)

Oh, without a doubt, I would never enter a casino this short in my recovery without one of my GA gals or my husband. I need to go do this. NV doesn't really do self-exclusion do to the number of casinos and the fact that every bar, restaurant, gas station, grocery store and laundry mat has slot machines. However, some of the local (ma and pa casinos) will allow you to "86" yourself. I don't know why they call it that. But it is more stringent and something that is filed with the court system from what I understand. Someone had explained this to me a while back in GA because a member was court ordered to come to GA and had to go through courts to get banned from casinos and going in one after being "86'd" meant you go to jail. They don't look at this as self-exclusion, it is looked at as the casino is banning you. And there is some document you fill out as to why the casino has to ban you. I need to look into this more.
