I used to think I could meet someone and they could save me. Help me. Rescue me. Stop me from destroying myself with the gambling.
But they can't. You need to love yourself first, as clich as that sounds, and you need take care of yourself first. That is the only way you are going to attract someone who is wonderful, loving, and loyal.
Think about it this way: By gambling for so long, you have given up on you. In turn, you have attracted spouses, friends, and acquaintances into your circle who have given up on you as well.
In order to find people who are going to love, support, and stick by you, YOU need to stick by you.
I recommend finding a good therapist, starting in a GA group, doing a self-ban at the casinos near you, and putting your money in the hands of a good financial planner who will pay your bills and manage your money ASAP. Do this, and you'll find someone who loves you and will help take care of you, because you're loving you and taking care of you.
Wish you all the best in your journey.
