It seems like everyday I come across someone or some financial matter that has been affected by my gambling. I know the guilt that each of us feels for all the money lost and the hurt we have caused our loved ones. Our stories are all the same. I have had a few relapses but I keep coming back here because I know there is life beyond gambling. I have taken several steps forward and a few steps backwards but I have hope that eventually I will walk so far ahead the backwards steps will be far and few. The one favorable decision I made to was to limit access to my monthly income. So my monthly bills are being paid and some money is being used to payoff my debt. But the last relapse I found myself gambling with the small budget I give to myself each week. As my therapist and I discussed it is not about the money but about the action. We are working on why I feel I must be in the action. The diagnosis is that I am an emotional gambler. I must learn to channel the stress in my life in a more positive direction. I AM a work in progress but I will NOT give up. I am worth it and so are my children. Wishing everyone a GF day!!! xoxoxo Chargergirl

The key for me is to always remember not to try and solve all your problems at once. Whether we are predisposed to that thinking or it's a product of our compulsive gambling, many of us tend to focus on fixing everything right now. That's a sure recipe for disaster. Just focus on not making that next bet and try to bite off small pieces to try and change or fix. They all add up.
