Gambling Addiction & Recovery Support Group
Compulsive gambling is an urge or addiction to gamble despite harmful negative consequences or a desire to stop. A preferred term among many professionals is problem gambling, as few people described by the term experience true compulsions in the clinical sense of the word. Problem gambling often is defined by whether harm is experienced by the gambler or others rather...
I personally lost ALOT of money and won very little money.
I know Im a compulsive gambler and that I need help. I also realize now that its not about the money anymore. I am emotionally sick inside and have to get down to 'cause and effect' here to find out what the real problem is.
When we add our comments here ... we promise to be nice :-)
Please accept my sincerest apologies if What I posted, in any way, shape or form lead to the feelings you are experiencing today. You are absolutely right in that this forum is for venting, and should be seen as a safe haven to vent the "crap" going round in our brains.
My comments To the thread That I believe started this firestorm were formulated over a period of a few days....they were not offered as a result of one of those knee-jerk reaction moments;
In hindsight, perhaps my message should have been delivered using the PM form of mailing. Conversely, however, so too might have the link to the poker rankings website, which was the push sending me on to the "dance floor " for public comment.
In either regard, I hope and pray that forgiveness is in your heart, if I he the cause of this current feeling of discontent.
Mt apologies to anyone that I might have hurt, including the author of the original post...
Love Tagg
And while I believe that yes.. we do need to vent sometimes about our addiction.. if that is all that we do and continue to admit the problem without accepting and executing a solution, then the bitching and venting is useless really.
As of being pissed- when I feel that way, I look inside. Because, after all being pissed is a normal human reaction and we all humans.
And that was my venting for today on being pissed.
Have a great day all, Vicky

Kingdoom of "Peace in Recovery" is not to far, its close to us.
We will get there together, we will go around all of the"road block" and we'll not fall! Just hold my hand. And we will see all of amazing Beauty of Life and God, who is really in charge.
I use to go to this one meeting and there was one man. I really liked and was inspired by his sharings. I could wait when he would take his turn to speak. Especially he didn't gamble for 7 years at that time and I could not get a month. I was looking up to him. Somewhere five years ago he said something what puzzled me, And only now I understand what did he actually meant.
He said: "I didn't gamble for more than 7 years, but I can not say I ever reached The Recovery, I am still stuck in Abstinence, and I am struggling, because I am still angry and it making me pissed.
It was a silence after.. And only now I understand what he was talking about.
Life is Good, God is Good!
Love you YV!
Peace to all! May you all have a Blessed Day!

Compulsive Gambling brings financial damages, but its Never about the money and/or how much who lost or won. Especially when it comes to Recovery. I am not dumb and I knew immideately what was your post about! That is why I was the first who responded. I wanted to hear more from you on it, or if you say I wanted you in fact vent more. Like I said, I am building 2 and 3rd layer for my "filtering" system. So you can vent about anything you want! I will not let anything to subotage my recovery. Life is much Bigger and better than some of the pissed off expressions, someone trying to throw my way after the fact. And is Instead of concetrating on moving on and working on the so wanted Recovery.
I wish you the best!
Vicky
As YV said....there's always lots of love here for my "sista's and brotha's.....and there always will be. We'll always be in agreement on one thing, and that is that each individual's gf journey is as unique as their own spirit.
Love you all, Tagg
I want to respond directly to some of the things you said.
"well lets just just say everyboby has there own way to recovery and some people on here alll about themselves there then others"
What is your intention with this statement? Did you intend to call someone out to show them how selfish they are? What purpose does that serve you, that person or this group in the long run? Its just your opinion and maybe you hold it in too high of regard.
"......who cares that somebody gives a money amount they either lost or won...."
Well Vicky does. She actually said that very plainly. So why are you asking this question? All of us can do with that information whatever we choose to do with it. Take or leave it. Its pretty simple.
"why should that matter if people come in here to get crap out..."
It matters because we care about each other. We care about helping each other in recovery. This is a safe place to speak about your feelings, your triggers, and your vulnerabilities. I feel like you are attacking someone for doing just that.
"let them vent ...thats what this all about "
I disagree with you, that is not what this is all about. Its a small part of it. Its about supporting each other, learning from each other, and learning more about ourselves through conversations and even disagreements. For some of us, we share more true grit here then we can in our off-line lives.
When there are strong emotions involved, I feel it's best to step back and take a look at your intentions before pressing the send button. My intention for this post is that Id like to keep this a safe place to discuss our feelings, thoughts, stories, failures, successes and to vent even a place to support each other to the best of our abilities and try to do no harm to the group.
Peace to all
