Sitting here at work, Friday afternoon. getting off in 15 minutes. I have had a very stressful week.. what I really want to do it just go to the gameroom and push buttons for a few hours and smoke cigarettes and just be mindless..
but i know when i walk out of there 100-200 dollars lighter, i will not be a happy camper.. my husband likes to go gambling too.. we feed each others weakness.. i don't understand why i feel the strong desire to do something i know i will regret.. evn if we hit a jackpot, that just means we will get to play longer.. the only way we come home with money is if they close and we still haven't lost it all. I guess that is a good thing, that the gamerooms do close.. casinos don't.. atleast not the ones i have been to. we are staying away from casinos!! that always costs us 1000's. no way. but the gamerooms..
my oh my
what's a girl to do. not wanting to drink, not wanting to gamble..
it seems like all the things i like to do i am having to give up because they are bad for me and not part of God's master plan for my life...

That's funny - I feel the same way. Despite the signon of Smokeygirl, I am not a smoker, but just like to go to the casinos, relax, have a beverage, and sit and play the games. Can't seem to do it responsibly either... oh well; maybe in another lifetime.
I hate giving it up..

I know the feeling...I had it a few times this weekend, so I just played it out in my head...going to the bar, drinking, gambling, sneaking outside for a smoke, writing check after check, feeling sick, wondering why I went in the first place....Then I felt better and knew I was doing the right thing by not going. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Those type of thought make my life hell. I actually got so stressed out gambling that I started to bleed internally. Now that is messed up. Do you know how hard that is to explain to a doctor? I can't go back and I can't put myself in a situation that will pull me back into that other person that I was. Regardless of where that leads me, I will do it without gambling. I think I will give up drinking too, so that I can't blame a slip-up on the alcohol.

After I quit gambling and joined GA on 8/25/00, I've had NO desire to gamble, at all! Then I met a cute bartender and having drinks in the bar was fun, but he moved on, and now going to the bar alone is nothing but a BORE! I have decided that casinos STINK, and I suggest you read some good books or join a church group that will keep you busy, hon.

singing has taken the place of gambling for me.I sing at church and so I get on utube and learn the music that praises the Lord.I am so much more content now.63 days free.

the one they love with gambling and help themself at the same time? the stress is unreal.
