learn from it and forgive yourself. it happened and theres nothing you can do to change it and beating yourself up will only make recovery harder. lesson to be learned: it only takes one bet to suck us back in. god bless and keep coming back. you deserve a happy peaceful life and we are here with you, all helping each other get through this.

We we win, we lose and when we lose we lose. The Casino is a no-win situation. Don't go back and dig a deeper hole for yourself. Before I quit, I'd nearly dug my grave. Damn near killed me. The hardest thing to do is wrench yourself away while you have a chance to make a "big score" or when your'e not dead tired from playing all day and night. You found the strength to pull away. Call that a victory cause it is one. Fight the urge, fight back.

I am not condoning even setting foot in a casino or buying a lottery ticket or placing any bet. private or gov subsidized. I am just saying apply that fighting will earlier and often. no bet is the best bet.

For me I am similar. When i've had times away for the machines.. a gateway back to them has first started with buying a lottery ticket. I tried to tell myself that I wasn't gambling... but fairly quickly I was back in front of the machines. Yesterday i had a conversation with someone where they directly had a "go" at me. The person does not know me well, and has talked to me about 3 times in two yrs and the last time was 8mths ago. Because of this conversation ... I wanted to run. I actually took off from the party I was at without saying good bye. Then I was wanting to run back to the front of the machines. Thank the universe I didn't go. But it was a close one. When I am sitting in the whirlwind and not reaching I can be on rocky ground. I just had to get that out. Regards Kim

Sorry you had a set back and went back to the casino.

If you really want to rid yourself of the dispair that his addition has and will continue to cause, the "elders" or "long-timers" in GA discourage any form of gambling, because of the triggers it sets off in us. Our brains work differently than those that can enjoy a casual night out at the casino. I'm not an expert on this subject by any stretch of the imagination, I'm just speaking from personal experience.

Dewitt suggestion regarding mailing the money you left with back to the casino is right on. I can't count the number of times I hit a jackpot, Left with money, then 3 days later gave it all back and went in the "hole" depleting my account of my own money. Over and over again.

You can do it girl....get back on the horse and try it again. If you are ready, if you've finally reached the point where you hear yourself saying "Enough is Enough" - with true grit and determination you will see the results of your efforts. Its no easy task. But once you decide you've had it , instead of drawing the line in the sand, which washes away with high tide, get a jack-hammer and chisel that starting line into the concrete and you're on your way.
