Be strong and find something else better to do then gambling.
I took me exactly 2 short phone calls to get my name removed from VIP clubs and promotions at two casinos. Never got another piece of mail or another text or email about "free" stuff they wanted to entice me back in with.
There are concerts at other venues. After a few months of not gambling you could probably afford to fly somewhere for a vacation and take in a concert, maybe at Royal Albert Hall in London.
Since I quit gambling, I've "invested" money in a dietitian, healthy food, exercise clothes, workout classes, meditation books and candles, new sleep clothes, a new haircare kit, and a lot of massages. I'm twenty-five pounds thinner in 131 days (and I was 145 to begin with - I'm not a big girl), but I've gained so much more.
When I look at myself 131 days ago, I see someone who was sad, lost, frazzled, and uncentered. I often was unshowered and unkempt and racing through life, trying to get back to the casino. I wore old clothes or whatever I got for gifts and spent all of my money there. Now I'm someone who is...well, while not exactly happy yet all of the time, at least pleasant, centered, more calm, and confident. I am clean and my clothes reflect who I am on the inside, and I don't have an issue spending money on myself or my significant other and what we need or want.
I think it's a good sign!
