Exercise helped me a lot, even just a ten minute walk. (exercise release dopamine too) Art work helped the anxiety as well as a guided imagery tape.
Going to the library and getting audio books to listen to at night helped me sleep.

It helped me to start something I called a Joy Journal. Every couple of days I would write a favorite memory of a happy time in it or I would tape a picture of something that made me happy (my kids when they were little or my marathon finish). I kept it very simple. I think it helped remind me that I had had happy times in my life and I would again.
