Compulsive gambling is an urge or addiction to gamble despite harmful negative consequences or a desire to stop. A preferred term among many professionals is problem gambling, as few people described by the term experience true compulsions in the clinical sense of the word. Problem gambling often is defined by whether harm is experienced by the gambler or others rather...

I am extremely down in the dumps over our lack of money and payday is still a week from this coming Friday. Can't even buy my dogs dog food. Been cooking them rice and hot dogs. What an idiot I have been. I really, really, really, don't want to ever gamble again!

I totally understand where you are because I'm there too. I worked my entire life, and now I'm disabled, and of course getting an approval takes forever, so I'm living on very little money. I'm trying to look at it this way...no money, no gamble. It's so hard though not having money and having to ask for help, when you've always been used to taking care of yourself. It's amazing that I wasted all of my money on gambling, so the only advice that I have is that you cut your expenses as much as possible, try to find creative ways to make extra money (legal ones), and try to find something pleasurable in your life to help you.

I appreciate all of your comments and I love that no one is judgmental on here because everyone has been in the same boat, so that really helps. It also helps knowing that eventually this mess will be cleaned up and I will feel "normal" again. I just have to hang tough until payday - none of which will be given to the casino - and then go from there. It's only 9 days away now, so I can make it. I don't feel I would do anything illegal as I work for attorneys and would hate to have them bail me out of jail!!! I also will not be asking for borrow any money from family members as I got myself in this predicament, I'll get myself out. I've never borrowed money from them for gambling and I don't want to start now. There are lots of things I am thankful for - we don't have credit cards so I don't have to worry about that; my husband has been very supportive of my efforts to give this addiction up and he never brings up the fact that although we both work full time we never have any money, and all kinds of other things. Eastwester, I like your reply - how very true it is and I will use it constantly to remind me when the urges strike. Anyway, I just needed to whine and feel sorry for myself a bit. Thanks for listening!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
