It's 930 pm. I don't know what to do. I want to go out alone, but where is there to go?! I've gambled for nine years anytime I've gotten this restless. I feel like I'm crawling out of my skin. Please help!

It is time to get out the art supplies or go to the gym. Go to a movie, go to the mall, make a present for a friend, journal, anything and everything besides gambling.

go to the book store at night and library during day

jump in the shower once the urge hits, once you are dry - it should have passed the powerful pull

there are NO magic remedies, i think "if i was in jail and couldnt go, how would i deal' it would pass cause my mind knows "there is no way to get there so im safe and have no choice but to go about something else, so JUST HOLD TIGHT AND DO IT FOR DEAR LIFE....really, get it out of your mind at all costs. they are only thoughts, nothing change if nothing changes, its what you gain ..not what you give up

I like the ideas of getting art supplies, getting into the bath, and heading to the bookstore or the mall. Thank you.

Sometimes it's not so much the casino as the sense of getting out of the house and doing something for a while.

The urge has been particularly strong for the past week. I'm hanging in there.

For me, sometimes it is about my need for variety. Art really was relaxing and allowed my mind to shut out the rest of world, in a very calm and controlled sort of way. The artwork does not have to be good, the process it what helps, and I find it doesn't make me want to be compulsive about it either. Same with walking, hiking, photography, biking, and journaling.
I am pulling for you.

me too, I remember this feeling. I think I had to "allow" myself to enjoy my free time. I wasn't allowing myself to be happy, be free of the addiction. Once I did that, I found all kinds of things to do with my time, including, just "sitting" and watching TV, not doing anything, was the toughest part for me. So, I tried to stay busy, cleaning my house, including closets, drawers, garage, etc., it was like spring cleaning for me, over and over again lol. Hang in there, be good to yourself. You deserve it.
