I had counselor help me to figure out that I did not think I was worth it, the whole effort, I did not think I deserved anything better. I had to get out of the self-abuse cycle I was inflicting on myself.
Get over being disappointed and dwelling on the pain and shame, become a best friend to yourself. Your best friend might say, I am disappointed in you, but they won't leave it at that. They will roll up their sleeves and begin to work at the mess you've made along side of you. You must befriend yourself.
Blame is for God and children the rest of us just figure out where to go from here.
