This is about the time when I start it up again. I need this support group desperately to help me through. I don't want to be on day one again. It is not the solution to my boredom, to paying my bills an for escaping my depression. I wish that I was able to get help from this support group before I lost so much, but I only have the "present." That is all that we all have. I have practically nothing in my bank account, but today is pay day from my husband and this is when I feel like gambling again (when the money is filling back up in my bank account). Today, I will not do that. I am going to the mall with my kids and we are going to see a movie. Hopefully, my husband won't complain that I am spending money at the mall.

I am getting the hint that perhaps you have not come completely clean with your husband. You are not helping the situation if you keep secrets about your gambling. If your husband knew about your gambling problem then it would follow that he would be delighted that you are spending a LITTLE money at the mall with your kids and not gambling. Otherwise you all need to get yourselves to some help. Something built around secrets, half-truths and lies is bound to fail. He and your children can be some of your best allies, after all aren't they what is really important in your life? Even more important than gambling? And they are at risk, they deserve to know the inside skinny on what is going on with you.

Quit is so right when she tells you the truth is the only way. I have always been up front with my significant other,good or bad, and she is my best friend. You can not keep going to gamble every time you get down, it's just a vicious cycle which will consume you. God Bless.

say to yourself, if i really want to gamble, i'll go tommorow, and then when tommorow comes, say it again, see how far you can go

IT will always be there, its not going anywhere, just try to stay busy and you have to trick your brain, cause at this time - its smarter than you, sorry to say, you have to be HYPER vigilant to fight this, make a plan every day to do anything/something and stick to it....much peace

Hi quit4good and skip88,
Actually my husband knows all about my gambling. He has bailed me out over and over again and he has absolutely no appreciation that I go to the mall vs. to the casino. This fight ithat I am doing with stopping gambling is my fight alone along with helpful, supportive members on this site.
