My roommate just gave me her two weeks notice last night. I should be happy because I do not like her at all, she is my son in laws mother and I kept her from being homeless 2 years ago when she moved in and then she started paying rent after she got a job.  Losing this rent money is really going to hurt me. I want to just trust God that everything will be ok but I am panicking.  I am so depressed anyway and sad and whatever else you are when you go through withdrawl and this is just coming at a bad time.  It is really a good thing I have no access to money or I would gamble.  I just feel like I can't catch a break. One thing after another goes wrong and I am just sick of it.

we should know...i hate it too, that i have no control once i start- and that scares me the most to walk away from it

I’m just so sorry to hear you’re struggling with the urge to gamble. It’s not a good option, it’s not the next right thing to do. But I know it’s almost unbearable when you’re feeling that way. The next right thing to do is give yourself time to heal, your mind is strong and your heart is even stronger.

Take action and put that craigslist ad on - odds are you can find someone you like and can live with, that you choose because you like them rather than you are helping them because they are "almost family'. You might find your best friend for ever that you didn't know you needed. Assuming rent is paid this month, you have quite a bit of month left to find a new roomie, a little early to panic. Look for someone who is not desperate, has something to do in the daytime and it generally relaxed. You can get through this. Hugs

Amazing support and healthy direction! I hear you. Life can be very tough, and I really think when you read this post in a year you will see the positives that arose. Things you can not have anticipated would work out so well did! This will happen if you take these small steps, shore up a positive spirit and thoughts (even if they don't "feel real"). Find some blessings (even small, wow I have fresh water to slash on my face, I have a body which is doing millions of miracles an hour giving me breath and life, I can bless another person with kindness and helpfulness. ) as I will now and today too.
