Recovery is such a different world for me, I am going to enjoy a holiday, (mothers day), rather than sit in a casino, and there were plenty of holidays I spent in a casino. I am going to participate in a family gathering tomorrow, and make dinner for my mom on Sunday. HUGE difference from 32 days ago. The good news is, I have no desire to go place a bet, or go to a casino, not today. My attitude is changing too, this morning, someone decided to take their bad morning out on me, this is the same person that used to make me feel like crap, and I would buy into it, this morning, I didn't buy into it, I didn't allow them to scream at me, and I actually told them it was unacceptable. Before my old way of behaving would have been to allow it, which would give me the perfect excuse to run to the card room tonight, because I was upset, and of course it was someone elses fault, and it was Friday night. I am trying to remain calm, I am trying to not over react to situations, or allow old "triggers" aka, excuses to make me gamble. Recovery for me, is changing just about everything that I became, everything that I was "comfortable with." Although, I am noticing, I'm looking in the mirror, and I like what I see, way different than the girl in the mirror, after days on end in a casino, no sleep, losing a ton of money, no eating, reckless and sick.
