I just read the post you are referring to and you have a right to be pissed. There is no excuse for that kind of abuse for no reason. Please remember how sick and desperate we are in the throws of this disease. At times I have said terrible things to loved ones, much less strangers on a website. I commend you for all the work you do on the hotline and I would just try to ignore this outburst, for I read your reply and saw nothing but common sense help trying to be given. You do not need 70k to eat, but you might to gamble out of control.

I could not of said that better, thank you so much, i thought a couple of days on how to handle it caused it bothered me and i did realize they are in the throws of their addiction, so trust me i calmed down alot before posting that, and not calling them out on it

If they are serious about getting help they will open my post to get the info, then we know they posted to get some use of their life, and not go throw 70K out the window and even if its for bills, its money that had to be replaced.

We are all human with each of us carrying our own baggage. We are all struggling to deal with life, which can get tough without making extra problems like addiction. When I get offended, or offend others, (Believe me, I try to keep it to accidentally offending others.) I really need to look at what is going on with me. Mainly, because, I have no control of anything else.
I try to come from a place of love, in my posts and in my daily conversations and interactions I strive to be authentic about my feelings.

Dr. Phil that his father used to say: There's something about that guy I can't stand about me. It says a whole lot more about what is going on with the name-caller than the one being called names.

I can no longer call into that number on my Google phone without paying. :( Dang Google! I think they started doing that for all conference calls.

I have enjoyed reading your comments and find them helpful. Late last night I saw something strange written and thought, "Where did that come from?" I figured it was a hurting person taking it the wrong way. Hurting people hurt others. .Sorry if you are hurt because no one defended you. I don't know what I would have said.........by nature I am a confrontational person, and that is something I have changed about me. I got to pick my battles and those are very few now..Really I don't know what I would have said......sorry.

thanks everyone, I'm ok, i see alot of new people coming and going and they prob didnt know i'm a veteran of some sort and just assumed i was being snarky, tough love works as well some times with people, some times not - it all comes from a good part in my heart

Early on I recovery, my sponsor told me that what others say about me is none of my business. I thought she was harsh but over the years, I have come to realize and accept those words.

"What others say (and think) about me is none of my business."

That phrase has brought me immeasurable peace. I need not worry or react to any of it. It is not my issue and I need not spend any time on it. I have my own things to work on.
