banning papers on the way

Well another day 1. Just lost most of pay as usual. Had it up to my eyeballs now! How stupid and sick can I be?( very). I came in, finished self ban papers (i've been putting it off, don't know why) and they are being mailed as soon as it is morning. I really hate that I have paid the wages for several employees again . But to late for that thought. My extremely damaging gambling HAS TO STOP. I've been digging the hole of financial burial again. Just got all troubles with money fixed last year and self ban expired in December and I dug that hole of debt again. Though a smaller ,One BUT I DID It. I only banned for a year the first time but Wish I did longer. But thoughts of gambling kept me from lifetime ban. You know how we think we learned some control. Lol what a joke that thought was. THIS HAS BEEN awfully damaging to my well being. We all know it is a destroyer. But minds don't listen to reason some time. How sad this addition is really. Soul , mind, body, sanity, love, control etc. Get destroyed with every dollar we slide in a slot, or bet that is placed. Why I (we) keep doing it is insane. Just keep punishing myself for lack of willpower. I have for to GET A LIFE....

Chalk it up as your Last loss and move forward. Do not let gambling steal your joy. Life is way too short to let something continually steal your money and your happiness. Get really mad at your addiction, learn to hate it and refuse to give in too it. There are so many other things in life that have real meaning and substance. Recovery can be so rewarding if you just accept you cannot gamble and let it happen. I have learned finally to protect and guard my soberity as the most important asset I have. I truly believe I am out of options and have no more recoveries left. I am so glad to finally leave this behind me, and pray it is forever.

It helped me to write out a "good-bye" to gambling, it made my leaving the gambling world real and in my own words. But like Skip said, I have to guard my recovery constantly as the most important asset I have, because it is. For me, without recovery, I have nothing.
You know how to do this, you have the thread to recovery, you just need to follow the path, one step at a time. You can do this, banning papers are on the way and your mind is in the right frame.
Remember how insane and destructive and how much pain you have now, draw a picture, write it out, look at it the next time you think you want to gamble. For me, gambling is a choice between life and death, gambling being death.

You have my prayers, too. I should say that punishing yourself for a lack of willpower may be the absolutely worst thing you could do -- you may have a need to punish yourself period; hence the gambling. So try not to think in terms of punishing yourself. Think in terms of getting your act together and being humbled by how great a force this addiction/habit/vice/whathaveyou can be. I know when things start to get too good for myself, I sometimes feel a need, subconsciously, to strike first before fate does it for me. Please just hold on tight and look inside and feel worthy of NOT gambling.
