Today is my 90 day celebration. I'm finally here!
What I've learned most about this process in the past 90 days is that it's important to celebrate your victories. Too many of us think that we aren't worthy of a celebration, that others will think poorly of us if we brag about an accomplishment, or that we are somehow too loud or boisterous or obnoxious if we speak of something we have done too highly.
But I've learned that it's vitally important to stand up and be counted. Be strong, be confident, and know that you are worth celebrating. Acknowledge your progress, whether it's day 1 or day 1001. In fact, days 1-10 were infinitely harder than days 80-90 for me, so I would say, celebrate everyday those ten days! I only wish I would have celebrated more of these milestones sooner. The celebration has been something I've been looking forward to all week!
One of the only good things about a gambling addiction in particular is that even a nice dinner, a massage, or a day at the spa are cheaper than many of us would have blown on a night out at the casino!
For today, I made plans to go out to dinner with my significant other. I bought myself a card (below) and gave it to someone to fill out for me. And I'm super proud of myself. http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/12-step-addiction-recovery-cards/recovery-anniversary/day-specific/90-days
Anywho, I'm writing this because I'm happy and wanted to share, and also because I want to encourage others to get excited and start celebrating milestones, like days 1-10, day 14, day 30, day 45, day 60, day 90, etc.

I agree that days 1-10 were much tougher for me than 80-90.
