Gallstones Support Group
Gallstones (choleliths) are crystalline bodies formed within the body by accretion or concretion of normal or abnormal bile components. Risk factors for pigment stones include cirrhosis, biliary tract infections, and hereditary blood cell disorders, such as sickle cell anemia. Stones of mixed origin also occur.
Hi everyone, I just joined this group. I just got out of the hospital. I'm going to be 39 in September and I'd never been to the hostpital, ever!
I'd been sick for a week with bad back aches and then vomiting. Last Thursday I went to the ER in terrible pain and unable to breathe. Turns out it was a gall bladder attack and I got admitted and on Monday they took it out. I am home now (Thursday) and each day I am less sore. They did the surgery laparoscopically and so it was way less painful than if they had done the big ol' cut they used to do.

My Liver enzymes are still not normal, so I have to follow up w/ the surgeon and my general doc about that in a week. So in a week i'll get bloodwork then a week later see the docs. I needed an MRI to look for stones but I didn't FIT in the one in the hospital (TOO FAT!). So I am hoping to get into one of those "open mri" places around town. Our insurance covers some of them, so I just need to get a doctor's order from the surgeon or my general doc.
I'm glad to find this group and hope to meet some new friends who have or are going through the same thing. I find it's easier to deal with things when you have online buddies who share your experiences.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
