Foster care is a system by which a certified, stand-in parent(s) cares for minor children or young peoples who have been removed from their birth parents or other custodial adults by state authority. Responsibility for the young person is assumed by the relevant governmental authority and a placement with another family found.

We recieved our babygirl when she was two days old, she's now 3 months. As y'all know we are IN LOVE with her. Her bio mom is doing what is needed but visits aren't goin well. By that I mean that mom does the basics but will not talk with her. Its like she can't bond with her. Mom is in her early 20s btw. Based on some of yall's experience, do you think mom has a good chance od getting her back? Even though she's doin whats needed but cant emotionally connect with her baby. Just wondering. ...

I'm not sure how the foster system works where you are but sadly here the emotional connection is not necessary. I will admit first though that I did not have a bond with my own daughter until she was about 2 years old. I loved her, but this mythical bond that everyone gushed about was missing. And I thought something was wrong with me. After much discussion and a few talks with professionals I realized that TONS of women don't have an instant bond with their children, that a lot fake it. Some women do and some don't, both are normal.

So while she doesn't seem to have a bond now it may develop. And as long as she can meet the requirements of CPS, such as job, home, drug free, etc etc then they won't think much on the bond. She will be able to get her back.
