For Sex Addicts Only Community Group
For Sex Addicts Only is exclusively for individuals seeking support, information and recovery advice from fellow sex addicts. If not a sex addict, please do not join this group. The focus of this group is to support one another in understanding how one becomes a sex addict and achieving a successful recovery from our individual sex addiction. Sex addiction exists in...
A) reducing the birth rate - NOPE plenty of porn addicts in marriages and sexual relationships.
B) reducing sexual assaults - Are you serious? Porn addiction is a form of sex addiction that can escalate. Men can get into more violent type of porn and in some cases want to act this out in real life. Sociopaths and psychopaths are still in society doing their dirty deeds, but Porn addicts are not immune from being the aggressor in sexual assault.
C) reducing the spread of sexually transmitted disease - this is assuming that the porn addict is not sexually active!! And also as I said the addiction can escalate to other form of sexual addiction which includes acting out with prostitutes, anonymous sex, etc.
Your list of the affects of porn addiction is also kind of short to be honest. There are many more adverse affects that can be listed.
The differences they are trying to base their arguement on are void of any discussion about the reasons addictions happen. Addiction is an immature adult using a destructive behavior to cope with unresolved pain.
I asked my wife if she would have preferred me be an alcoholic than a sex addict. She said it didn't matter.
There is only one reason to rationalize that porn addiction is not sex addiction, to minimize the porn addiction as more acceptable or less dangerous.

Long ago, I realized that pixels weren't people. If they were, I couldn't look at porn. According to the article
"With sex addiction there's a more significant interpersonal component. The person with the addiction needs to be having sex with another person in order to satisfy their need — porn alone wouldn't cut it. For this reason, people with sex addiction are often extroverted and eager to mingle. People who are addicted to pornography, on the other hand, are more likely to be introverted and happy to stay at home."
I don't need the porn for itself. I need the orgasm, and for me, porn is the most direct and effective means to that end.
