Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
You know you are going through normal behavior for 16 days of no binging. This is new territory for your mind and body. Your "normal" before was to feel the fullness of your belly afterwards, and now you are embarking on new "normal" feelings. You might miss the act of binging, but what you are also missing is the chemical change that happens when you binge, and for these 16 days you have chosen not to do that, and chose other things that keep up your dopamine and seratonin levels in your body.
Ok, so how did you do with the chocolate cake and ice cream? Ice cream is also a weakness of mine, and usually don't keep it in the house. I got some tonight, for company, and now they are gone, and think about having more, but glad looked on this site to give me strength not to go back for more. You are a strong woman. Stay strong!!
i know the feeling sometimes when i am on a good streak---i feel i should be binging becuase i'm so used to it--that i feel odd that im not craving it---sadly sometimes this is when i cave--- out of the pure feeling that like u said it is weird---it is not our "norm".
Best of Luck!
Its like any addiction in that it takes up all of our time and its all we think about, when the next binge is going to be. when thats no longer there we have all this time to try and do something else with and it does feel wierd. I myself keep having really strong cravings which I find hard and like you have kids who have chocolate in the house. It feels like a war within myself. carry on the good work
