Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...
So, you had a couple of shitshows. And you made some choices which you probably now regret. That happens. Today is about today. Drink some water, wash your face, accomplish something today that makes you feel better.
You're not 'starting over'. You've already built up some good habits and you've already bypassed temptation a few times and each of those has made you stronger. You're building on that strength now.
There will always be mistakes and regrets. The key here is to start spacing them further apart. Find ways to minimize them when they happen, Think of preventive strategies. If possible, de-shit the shitshows - and if that's not possible, perhaps learn to turn off your emotional responses to them. Is it your shit? Is it your job to solve or shovel the shit? Is it possible to disengage emotionally? (You don't need to answer those questions to me, of course. But the answers, kept private, may show you a path forward.)
This is hard, hard work.
