Food Addiction Support Group
An individual suffering from a food addiction disorder frequently experiences episodes of uncontrolled eating, or binging, during which they may feel frenzied or out of control. They will eat much more quickly than is normal, and continue to eat even past the point of being uncomfortably full. Binging in this way is generally followed by a period of intense guilt feelings...

Has anyone tried to do the Atkins Diet? I feel like it might work best for me because there isn't a limit as to how much you can eat but rather what you can eat. Let me know if it has worked or not worked for any of you.

I know lots of people who have lost weight on Atkins but not many people who have been able to maintain the loss. I did try it once but didn't have much success. Lots of people swear by the South Beach diet as well and I think it has a bit more variety though might be more structured. I swear by WW. It's a plan that works when you work it. That's probably true of all diets. Good luck with whatever diet you choose.

I've never tried Atkins before, but I have tried South Beach (which is similiar but is actually healthier and has more variety; and you don't have a limit on how much you can eat) and lost a ton of weight on it, but I definitely didn't maintain it! Haha that no-carb stuff doesn't work for me because I feel deprived, but it could work for you, give it a try

I also lost 60 pounds on South Beach. I did well and maintained until I got pregnant and had to add more carbs. Of course I didn't have to add all the junk but I did! I am back on it now and finding success. Get the book and read it. It makes a ton of sense. I really do believe your body becomes addicted to sugar until you get off it. I feel so much calmer even after just a few days! HTH

I just started Atkins about 5-6 days ago and have lost 3 pounds! I am a lover of carbs, esp when binging--I love sugary things to binge on. This is one of the reasons why I chose to go on Atkins b/c I'm hoping it can help break the hold sugar and junk foods have over me now that I can't have them. For me, other plans don't tend to work b/c if I can have some, then I tend to eat lots. This way, if I can have none, then I don't worry about it as much. I've heard getting past the first 28 days are the hard part... so we'll see how I'm doing in a month :)

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
