Fitness Goals Support Group
This community is dedicated to group support around achieving fitness goals, whatever they may be, through personal training, athletic activites, or other strenuous activity. Whether you are trying to get fit to treat a health problem, boost your mood, relieve stress, or tone your body, this group is a great place to meet other like-minded people who have similar goals.
Secondly, welcome! I'm new here too! Unfortunately, I cannot offer any sound exercise advice because I'm not a fitness coach and I'm not sure of your allowed range of motion. But have you tried purchasing a heart rate monitor? As long as you can create a calorie deficit between your workouts and your nutrition you will lose weight. It sounds to me like you already eat healthy, which is great! I love food, it has always been a struggle for me to balance nutrition and exercise, so I've always tottered back and forth with my weight.
First, I've always had a fast heart rate. Resting, it's about 100. So, exercising, it's at least 140 or greater. My doctors are aware. But it's funny, they always ask me if I'm aware of how it is every time I see them.
Yeah, the food part isn't a problem. It is with my range of motion. So if I have something to hold on to, I'm ok. But that does limit what I can do. But also, the migraines are a problem. I did one mile on the treadmill yesterday. I wanted to do another mile in the evening. But as evening approached, so did my migraines, so going on the treadmill was out of the question.
So motivation is a big thing. It's easy for me to say to myself "I've got a headache, so I'm not going to push myself". I need to get over that hump.

Might be a good place to start anyway. Could help with balance too.
I also find it more interesting than the treadmill or elliptical.
I would suggest looking into the mcdougall program. It is a whole food plant based program. He believes if we are eating the correct food we only need simple moderate exercise, like walking - www.facebook.com/MWLChallenge

I don't need a different eating plan. I try to follow Dr. Joel Fuhrman. He believes in a mainly plant based diet. I read his book Eat to Live, and I was hooked.
