Fitness Goals Support Group
This community is dedicated to group support around achieving fitness goals, whatever they may be, through personal training, athletic activites, or other strenuous activity. Whether you are trying to get fit to treat a health problem, boost your mood, relieve stress, or tone your body, this group is a great place to meet other like-minded people who have similar goals.
I went for a 2 mile racewalk this morning and felt good while doing it. I had a bad mood last night and was very weepy, but I gave it some patience and sat with it, and felt the different parts of it crashing and sliding and drifting away and returning. Then counted my blessings and how amazing they are. Still felt rattled but it was late, and I decided nothing would get solved by not sleeping. So I put on an audiobook with a speaker under my pillow and went to sleep. A magnesium pill and camomile tea helped, plus wanting to have the energy to walk in the morning, as I will not exercise walk or run if I get less than 5 hours sleep (maybe a little stroll only). Anyway, in the morning I talked it out with my soul mate, and I felt better, had breakfast and coffee, and went for the walk. Still a little weepy, but that happens when a bad mood hits, takes a while to leave the body, the weeps. So I baked bread, made up pizza dough, fed cats, and other projects and work, and I feel ready to go on. Yay!! I have developed the walking exercise habit so that I NEED good sleep for it. And I almost NEED to walk or run because it is a good way to handle anxiety/depression. I say "almost NEED" because if or when I cannot exercise for some health reason, I will develop another "almost NEED" habit that requires me to SLEEP, EAT, TAKE CARE OF MYSELF and OTHERS if I can, so that I can continue that habit and my sanity. Maybe it would be PAINTING, maybe it would be SWIMMING, maybe it would be meeting up with a COFFEE group. SOMETHING!!!

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Exercise is also like antidepressant medication. ....Keeping the heart rate just a little bit higher then normal for an extended period of time, will get the endorphins generated in the brain which numb the pain and make us feel good in a natural way...(You probably already know this stuff)
I find that the best time to exercise, for me is late in the day, just before dark. Then I have no trouble sleeping.
It sounds like you are doing all the right things ..I think it's important for people ourage, or any age as far as that goes , to stay active by doing the kinds of things we enjoy doing.
God Bless
I started with a guided meditation which I found on you tube but switched back to tm and mindful meditation which has helped me tremendously and opened up parts of myself which I never knew existed. Thanks to the daily practice, I no longer take antidepressent meds. . I no longer need them.
I highly recommend.
~~~Peace~~~
