I called n changed due date to my payday. they agreed. glad I'm not getting overdraft. but upset i fell into same gutter. just going to keep my eye on the prize :) becoming debt free.

My room-mate took a pay day loan and it literally took him 6 months to repay. They are worse than loan sharks! I'm sorry you have to go thru this. They are so wonderful when you go to them for a request for money, which we only do because we are desperate. They NEVER tell you about how horrible the interest is. I know he was soooo happy when it was over and I'm sure you will feel the same way. He did tell me that should he ever need one again, he will look @ if he really needs it next time. Don't get me wrong, he did because his car had died but he also had thought about getting one to get a lap top. After the first loan, he will never go to them again. I'm not sure if all of them are crooks but I know his was. You keep your eye on the prize, it will happen and you will soon be done with them!!!!!

they require them to post the annual percentage rates on wall here....over 400% interest in the one I used years ago...will never use one again....never....

Babyrena, hang in there! You're getting there. It may not be on the schedule you had originally planned -- but it sounds like you're headed in the right direction.

These people ARE sharks. I'm still shocked that they're legal.

One story I heard on the radio this week though is that there are now starting to be ones that are overseas and you apply online. The radio commentator (and everyone else agrees) DO NOT DO THIS!! These people want your social security #, bank account info and a lot of other personal info. They're not in the US so they're not subject to any US laws.

The payday loan companies generally make a rough situation rougher. But I think the overseas ones turn it into a nightmare that can go on for many many years and there isn't much one can do about it.

I used payday loans for well over a year... mine was over 1,000% over a years time... it helped when I needed it but was extremely difficult to get out of it...

I pledge to myself to never use them again...

Give yourself a break! I currently have 3 loans out! They are easy to get stuck in! As soon as my spouse gets benefits i will pay them off. We have no credit cards so its the only way to get help when ur short on funds. If you can, just try and pay a little off as u can. It sucks having to pay off then take out again! Just know ur not alone. :)

Ii paid my payday loan last friday. :) glad to be done with it and cuz i paid $50'dollars on the last payday I didn't have any interest on it :) i have a positive balance in my checking account and my bank account. i looked at my checking account and my check went through for my light bill and my phone bill. i started giving my kids a set allowance every payday. which is working better for me cuz after they spend it they don't get any more. and its helping them learn money management. who would of known.

Babyrena, I'm turning cartwheels for you!! HUGE congratulations. I know you've made some major changes in mindset and you're really turning things around. Plus that, as you've said you're teaching your kids good lessons about money.

You should be very proud of you. I know I'm proud of you. You hung in when it wasn't easy and you're seeing the payoff. Just imaging waking up tomorrow morning and realizing that payday loan is a thing of the past. That will start your Saturday with a smile I hope!

It was a huge weight off my shoulders and the self discipline is a plus. now I'm saving up for when my grandbaby comes. its so freeing. I'm thankful for this group. the support is so needed at times especially now that I'm choosing to do this single. i thought i needed a mate to help me all this time but with this group and my family and commissioner support. i am making small steps forward.
