Go to Walmart. All "phones" are the same. They are made by different manufacturers so you can pick what you want. As far as
wireless carriers. They are re-sell the same carriers. If I were you I would go to Walmart. They have negotiated the best deals with the carriers and the phone manufacters

I bought a verizon prepaid phone and I get excellent service. Some phones I have tried in the past didn't give me enough of a coverage area - like I could only use it close to home cause of the towers. When you go to pick one out ask the customer service rep. they should be able to help you with any questions or give you some advice.

I have a T-Mobile to go phone and if you talk on the phone alot then it might not be best for you. The refill cards are $10.00 for about 30 minutes talk time and $25.00 for a little more than an hour. I mostly use it to read the daily CNN news and ABC news on it.

I use Metro PC, not sure if u have one of those or not. It one price, it includes text, and if your phone takes pics the phone cost more but it doesn't cost more on the min to have it.
It one charge for the entire month no matter how many mins you use.
It cost me 50 a month. but at least I know how much it goign to cost me and know I will not run out of minutes.

some of these prepaid I'm worry I will use to much minutes and then I have to run get a card when I do not have it. It might be a good thing to do, but I just like the idea I do not have to worry about my minutes or how much did I use up on that call.. or when someone is calling me knowing I'm using up minutes. It will cost me no matter what, unless I down load ringers and games.

I too needed a pre-paid so I tried a tracphone, I use the phone a lot so it got expensive. I next bought a Verizon, it was 10-15 to start with a nice phone (can take pics, access the web, etc) and it came with I think $5.00 of air time. You can choose a per day rate. The higher the per day rate the cheaper the phone is to use. I pay $1.99 a day for each day I use it which gives me unlimited nights and weekends and free verizon to verizon calls as well as only .05 cents per text. What I live the best is if money is tight I just don't buy more minutes and I don't have to worry about a bill. Hope this helps and good luck!

with the tracphone if u do not use it that day but just at nights it doesn't cost, for that is how I'm understanding you.

I do not always use it during the day but I do use it at nights mostly and early morning hours to received my calls for work.

I've heard that Boost Mobile is good, at $50.00 a month for talk and text. That's what I plan to get after I get out of "cell phone jail" this summer.

$50.00 isn't bad at all, I think.

Tracfone is good. Depending on where you live. If you live in the country, not so much.
Verizon is the best when it comes to coverage. Not so good on prepaid plans but very good on coverage.
Tmobile is also good but again if you live in the country, not so much.
AT&T has very good prepaid plans but again if you live in the country there are issuses.
Boost mobile is a great plan but customer service is horrid, and depending on where you are the service is even worse.
Net10 has great plans also but the same issue with country living.
Straight talk through walmart is good also.
I agree with the person that said you should head to walmart. They have most all prepaid companies. Its just up to you to decide which is best for you.
I have tried them all and the only one that had the best coverage was verizon and the best plans were AT&T and net10.

Just decide what you need in a plan and then go from there.

Walmart offers a $45 a month plan, unlimited text, calls, & internet.. i'm going to leave verizon and go with them, you have to buy the phone 1st, around $100 for a good phone, but you can't beat the monthly charge!

we had tracfone years ago, and didnt like it. now i have a t-mobile prepaid which is good. the more minutes you buy, the cheaper it is and they take longer to expire. my hubby uses his for work so it was getting expensive as pre-pay, so we just recently signed up for their no-contract plan. his is $50 a month, unlimited minutes. it works out good for us, but be aware that the $50 month doesnt include taxes and fees, the actualy bill is closer to $60, which is still good for our use. they have other plans available too that include text and web.

Net 10 has been the way to go for me and my wife.

They are all expensive and run about the same. My dad uses pocket communication or cricket. Its unlimited calls and text. $35 a month for voicemail and call waiting or base line $25. There all over the place in TX.

I'm from tx and not seen this anywhere. I think I would be interest to finding out more about the cricket. I'm payng 50 with unlimited, as well as text... but 35 is a little cheaper than 50...
I wonder if you can call anyone anywhere with a cricket?
