My goal of not spending money for two weeks, took a little hit... first was a automatic withdrawal for my website and then today I had to drive my car to go to the doctors for my monthly blood check. When out, I did also stop and got a couple of lottery tickets... so actual cash out of my pocket for the week was $3... oh wait and laundry which is another $1.50... $4.50 for the week - pretty darn good.
The weekend is here and I started it with a walk down to the bridge... our town is under water and the bridge is closed, basically cutting the town in two... took some pictures and just enjoyed watching the power of Mother Nature... cost? NOTHING
Through the week, I sanded, oiled, and varnished two of my new flutes... they came unfinished, so I got them all prettied up and started using them last night for the first time. Everything done to it, I already had... cost? NOTHING
When not playing the flute, I enjoyed a week of watching odd TV Shows... one of my favorites "Deadliest Catch" and then two newer shows, "Aquarius" and "Texas Rising."... cost? NOTHING. I know if you want to get technical, I had to pay for the internet to watch it and the electricity for the internet to work... I'm not that self-sufficient just yet!!!
Meals for the past week, were purchased last week, so no added cost there. Tonight, "Little Messenger" gets to pick the meal and he wants brats and mac and cheese, which is OK... BUT we will also be having some broccoli to keep my blood "just right."
After that, I might make some rice pudding. If I do say so, I make and excellent rice pudding... very fluffy and very tasty... then find maybe a sci-fi movie and settle in for the night.
A very nice and peaceful week is ending and the cost was near nothing and guess what? I never once thought about what I was missing without spending money.
Then the rest of the weekend will be spent relaxing, cleaning, maybe go to a 12 Step meeting and go through my sports memorabilia. I still want to get down to owning less then 100 possessions and I'm ready to start "decluttering" again.
This sports stuff is worth some money... so I think I'm going to make a video of it and explain, then post it on a Facebook page for our town to try and sell it... if I can't get any offers, then it will go to The Salvation Army...
Not missing money? PRICELESS

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I want a very simple life, which is what have been getting closer and closer to every year.
If I can sell these things - great, if not, then it will be a form of service work. The Salvation Army will get a donation and make money and some parent will make their child very happy.
It really is a good feeling... a very peaceful and serene feeling knowing that whatever happens with this stuff will be "perfect." And that in my mind I'm not worrying whether I need X amount of dollars to make me happy.
Some things I will be keeping. Mickey Mantle cards, a 1942 Captain Marvel comic book and other odd cards like Ted Williams...
