when I was listening to someone how they bought something and then took it back they didnt even know why they was even buying it..it got me thinking ..anyone who says money isnt everything is someone who has it..you need a certain amount to be happy because it can open doors for help..but money isnt everything as a replacement for happiness.happiness comes in different forms

watching a 5 dollar dvd last night on kurt cobain and courtney love, with him saying he had fun checking out pawn shops for bargains when poor and now that he can buy the whole store its less fun....vs everybody bad mouthing courtney for wanting luxery items from being famous. Kurt lived under a bridge and with others when he was a teen, courtney was a stripper, with courtney, despite her drug abuse, outliving kurt, and sometimes living an upper class life she seems to enjoy.

some people would say..Id so at least would like to be a millonaire try it..myself my mindset is..I dont like flash cars..a large house..omg NOOOOOOOOOO all them people to pay to follow me round the chaffeur..the personal assistant..the financial advisor..the cook ..the cleaners for the house. my clothers taken care of..my pet having to be pampered and its designer clothers..sorry laughing there..I have a card which some laugh at me over its one that gives me discount to the cinema..which is not one of these fancy ones..but I love it..its one card Im not giving up people can laugh at me all they like..

Jokey, for the most part I do agree that money isn't everything. I've been homeless (2 years.) I panhandled for money, took baths in rivers, slept under bridges and ate out of dumpsters.

It taught me a lot. It also gave me a respect for money. I was homeless when I was in my mid 20s - so my body could handle it. Four years ago, at the age of 52, I was close to being homeless again.

Thankfully, it didn't happen. And since then I've been on a mission to make sure I'm never close to having it happen again.

I have some money now but I don't spend it wildly like a drunken sailor. I live quite frugally and have one major spending splurge a year and that's my trip to England. And even that is a cheap trip.

I still don't have a good TV or a fancy car or much of anything... not because I couldn't afford it, I'm just content living a frugal life.

Penntucky, I admire you. It takes courage to survive without much financial support. It takes courage to not go on a spending binge just to fill a hole within oneself.

I'd like to share a story with you. My girlfriend is an avid cat lover. She would give her life for her cat. I can't say enough about her love for her "daughter."

She changed my views on pets recently with what she wished for with her life and her cats life. She hopes when the time comes that her cat leaves this world before her. Why? Because she will then know that her cat had a wonderful life, that she was cared for till the moment she passed away.

She said, if she was dying, she would be so worried about her cat's future that she couldn't prepare herself for the next life. It was then I realized how deep her love for her cat was.

Your kitty had a good life, from being a little kitten to a full grown cat, she had you taking care of her every need...
