I've said it before and I'll say it again, Government CANNOT provide for the most vulnerable in society. They are under the pockets of their paymasters.

What we should do is abolish income tax and replace it with a tax on goods and services paid, so that liability is based simply on what one can afford. Plus, a tax on Corporate Profit and Bankers' Bonuses.

I guess if it becomes the new way that they cut spending on social security to cut the benefits to those who are disabled then I am going to have my benefits cut....if not removed....but they will face a uproar from us....we will not give up quietly...

Social Security is affected by this... just disability. In the past disability has "borrowed" money from SS, but as Gomer Pyle used to say, "Surprise, surprise, surprise," the money was never paid back.

It is an issue politicians believe won't cause much of a stir. The reason? The poor are not organized and for the most part they don't vote.

I don't collect disability but if I did, I would start writing my senators and congressmen today... I would start writing op-ed pieces for the local newspapers and start letting others know about it.

Like I said, it won't happen to next year so there is time to get organized - either politically or financially...

the article sounds like they r going after the ssdi. Not honoring the insurance. No mention of the welfare. But I suppose welfare was already cut? although it seems like everyone and there brother gets food program around here. except me.
