ok this is my dilemma of the day! I want to pay my bills on time, I want to get out of debt, I want to save money for emergencies.
But with my small paychecks I barely make ends meet as it is. So to help me get through those tough spots, I find a valued item and take it and pawn it until the next payday. Well it is fine but the next month I have to get it out and I am at square one with all my goals out the window as usual.
I try to go suffer through the broke phase, and go without until I can get on stable ground, which usually works, but then it happens again. I feel like I am on a treadmill with this area of my life, I really want to move forward with this. Do I become a heartless person and tell my family we are broke and can't afford this/that and stay at home. I know I need to tell myself that also, but I feel like I am working for nothing and why work and have nothing. Just to survive? I want to work so that I can enjoy my life, not live to work.
Anyone know what I am talking about. Instant gratification is what I believe I have read somewhere. Versus waiting and saving. I believe that is where I struggle also.
The positive side is I got one big ticket item out of pawn this payday, but the down side is I am $40+ overdrawn in my bank acct. until next Friday. I am on E for gas, and I lost my gas cap keys. My electricity bill is late, and my phone bill is late too. I do have c.o.h. and will make it with gas, but I am overdrawn. ugh.
I have tried to start a direct selling business to make ends meet, but that is not going too well. I am struggling to get even my first sales off and running.
I have even considered trying to find a job that pays more, but I don't have any degrees to do that. With 4 children and a house pymt. I don't think that is even possible.
just venting:) feel free to comment. be nice. feeling down in the dumps already. luv n ((hugs))

I need some plot development ideas for a book I'm writing. Here's the lead in:------@1630 she texted me, asking for gas money. "Are u at work? I have to work in a couple hours I don't have any gas barely I was wondering if u had 20$ by chance haven't been able to get any massages in I'm sorry to ask was just seeing"She agreed to meet me at the townhouse @1730. I asked her to call me before...
They are money pits! I got stuck in that trap, and part of my "Financial Rehabilitation" is the thought process of "if I pawn it, consider it sold."
And, hell no, you are not heartless because you tell your family the truth about the financial situation. If anything, by not telling them, you are teaching them VERY WISE financial policies. I recently had to tell my daughter the reason I couldn't give her a monetary graduation gift is because her step-dad and I have finally faced the truth about our financial standing. And she understood! Don't underestimate your kids!
You have previously mentioned (maybe it's on your profile) that your SO is unemployed. Can that be remedied?
my SO is living with his mom right now, we still have finances together that we are working out, but he is not taking care of his side of the finances, and his mom is telling him to trade a car in that is in both of our names. I am telling him save up the money and buy one cash. We have an $1800 bill with att that he refuses to help pay because he believes my daughter was the reason our bill went so high. So I am paying that bill myself. I just recently got his #1 possession out of pawn because I asked him if he could help out during a funeral. He still owes his half on the truck, but won't pay it, probably why his mom is trying to make him pay it off. Idk this is a whole another post I think. lol.
We still have a saw that is in pawn yet that is his, I don't want to lose it because it is part of our livlihood. I know why pawn it, we were desperate at the time and didn't have any thing to sell so we pawned the saw...
Sorry for my ramblings just doing a back ground...
As soon as I get all this stuff out of pawn, I will go no pawns or sell stuff that I consider unuseful to me. so I don't have to pay the interest on it and be worried about getting them out. ugh....
I know I am wondering if this relationship is worth saving, but that is another post and group also. I still choose to stay with him even though....
If the fee goes unpaid, the pawn shop will attempt to sell the item in order to recover the principal loan amount. They usually absorb any profit or loss on the sale.
Is that how it works?
I know my ex would buy things from pawn shops quite often and claimed to get a great deal, so they must be really ripping the original owner off in order for that to happen.
I would definitely bite the bullet on this one and stay away. You are just supporting this business by hurting yourself.
I apologize in advance for getting personal, but it sounds like you need to dump this SO, too!
