This community is for people who are struggling to meet financial obligations of any kind. Financial challenges include everything from the day-to-day challenges of making ends meet to managing credit card debt to bankruptcy. Get support from others who are going through similar obstacles on the road back to financial stability.
One thing my wife does not understand is that as an independent, self employed consultant I DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER WHEN I AM PAID. I have been pressing clients for checks and a bad combination of timing and bills has her stressed, she just attacked me briefly when I came home and I am angry. I am hunting for work and do not like being beaten up for thing I have no control over. Out there I have money, getting it can be a big problem.

2013 is going to be a GREAT year for this board. I have already lost two clients this morning for consulting, so everybody is watching expenses and financial challenges will become overwhelming.

had to do some serious juggling of getting money in..two people wrote name wrong on check so it couldnt be put in the bank..I needed it in the bank to cover the mortgage payment it is no joke.the bank was shutting at three and had to chase one of them to get the right business name on crying out loud we have a comedien called Joe Pascale his saying of Im a chicken on the edge..LOL that was me Christmas eve..

ALL my clients now are slow payers. Had one homeowner repair in late December and the client thinks I do 30 days on home based work??/ WTF? Do Tree Removal and plumbers give 30 days? Nope, check on the spot. This is a problem customer so when I get the check and it goes through, I am terminating service asap.

when you agree to service them do you tell them payment at end of services before the work gets done? I usually if I suspect a problem on payment on someone will mention a cancellation fee that I impose on last minute cancellations....it avoids me driving to someone's home and not getting paid...if they cancel at last min I charge $10 for gas to house...I have only had one not pay me that I can think of and he was asshole who kept saying he would mail it to me....his daughter was student and he canceled lesson upon arrival....

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
