I did get the 2015 personal property tax check in the mail yesterday....I knew I would be raking in $100 today so I could write the check knowing that it would post mark on Dec. 31st and not be cashed until after the $100 hit the account...and the $100 went into account today....
Then to make 2016 a best year ever is that my student loans will be gone this year...I got them forgiven...they monitor for 3yrs after the decide to forgive them when on SSDI and this will be the 3rd year of monitoring so when Oct. 24 hits they are gone completely forever unless I earn over the minimum poverty level for family of 4 in USA....that I will monitor myself and stop working if nearing that number.....since the student loans are huge....$75K at least to be forgiven...
Today's students are going to college and coming out with degrees but they haven't the ability to find jobs because they haven't done more than go to classes...and unfortunately millions of others went to those same classes and are in the same boat....too many young men and women are falling for the idea that you have to have college to move forward in life....
I agree somewhat with desi on the need for these students to take technical training as an alternative to college....more students coming from those schools have skills that employers are seeking in skilled employees....
But my ranting is not going to change anything...I am a fact of the college myth...I got my bachelors and hated the job I got as a teacher from the onset....I was a miserable teacher...in some sense of it...today in my self employment as a teacher I have the needed skills to do something for my self employment from my teaching career and I actually enjoy the hell out of it....but I made that fatal mistake of going to get the masters degree that did not pay for itself....but I do use some of the skills from my masters in how I market my business....advertising and such like!
