A long story short I have been having chronic issues with my hip, lots of pain. I went to see a new doctor and he ran a gambit of tests but no answers so he sent me to PT. I was not aware that my health insurance did not cover anything until the high deductible was met. I previous had a different policy and my new job didn't explain the new one to me, or I didn't fully understand it, until I was knee deep in bills. I explained my financial situation to my doctor and reception staff, asking for test results over the phone vs another $200 appointment but they refused to assist me. I am also extremely unhappy with the physical therapy I received at this clinic, I feel they only made the problem worse and charged me $300 a session at that. Now the office won't schedule me for any further appointments, they won't refer me to another physician and even though I am making monthly payments (the best I absolutely can do) they are threatening to send me to collections. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience disputing medical care, I'd like to fight the physical therapy charges, and if so what was your success rate and how did you get things started? I'm still in a large amount of pain every single day and there isn't anything I can do to help it until this gets resolved down further. Thank you for any and all advice.
